The Day After

Wow! We had such a wonderful Christmas and it is hard to believe that it is over. We started Christmas Eve with a wonderful church service with Justin's Dad and Step Mom. We then enjoyed the evening with Ryan and Eve(his brother and sister in law). Christmas day we headed to his grandparents house to celebrate with his Mom and family. Not only did Santa come but we certainly enjoyed some delicious food along with fun with the family and Aunt Penny's Wii!

We then headed to Compass Lake to celebrate with my family. Santa even made a visit, although he was a little tired from his late night delivery, it was fun to have him stop by for a short amount of time. Justin and Mom made home made lasagna for our dinner -can I scream YUMMY. We hanging out at the lake until Sunday when we'll head home. I am enjoying the quite lake and I wish that it was cooler and NOT close to 70 degrees.....I thought that it was supposed to be cold at Christmas time.

People keep saying that once you know what you're having it makes is more real. This is very true but I'll also admit that when I was opening gifts yesterday for our baby boy it was odd. Knowing that these things, and especially clothes, would be for our child. Hard to believe but it has felt more and more real. I'll post pictures soon from our Christmas.

I hope that you are all relaxing and enjoying your weekend after Christmas. If you are traveling-safe travels.

Boy Oh Boy!

We're having a boy! We found out on Monday that we have a very healthy and growing baby boy on the way. It was so sweet to see him through the ultasound. To see his little feet and hands and how he is positioned. He even yawned while we were watching. Very cool. We are very excited and look forward to what all comes with precious little boys. It is such a blessing and so exciting to who God has hand picked for our family.

We met our parents for dinner last night and told them all at one time. They were excited to finally know blue or pink...Blue blue blue it is!

We're now at the lake and Justin and mom are cooking up some home made meatballs for our Christmas Lasagne and it is smelling delicious in here. I'll be posting some pic's soon of their hard work. I do hope that you all have a very Merry and Joyful Christmas. Love you all.

I am completely enjoying this Christmas season. It is amazing that Christmas is next week - how exciting. Fully decorated and barley half way done with my shopping (oh well I'll get it done). Before I get stressed about getting all of the shopping done, I remind my self it isn't about the gift that I buy or don't buy but that this special day is about the birth of Christ our Savior. It is really humbling to think about His birth, that He would actually come to live a perfect life for our sake. I wonder what kind of baby that He was? I wonder the same for my baby as well - I know that he/she will be perfect according to Gods will. But we'll know a little bit more as of Monday. I'll post and share with you on Tuesday what we are having....will it be a Cheerleader or a Football player? And more importantly the update on everything else that we find out. I am a little anxious and can't wait to see sweet Baby Hicks (via Ultrasound).

Yall have a great week. We have a dinner every night the rest of this week. Fabulous gathering with friends! Yet another great part of this time of year. Oh and btw I just love getting mail so therefore all of the Christmas cards that are flooding my mailbox bring me such joy each day.

Birthday Champion

Today is Justin's birthday and he is such a wonderful man and certainly deserves a post all to himself! Not only is he my hero but he is the love of my life and he makes my life fun and interesting. I am blessed to have him as my sweet husband. Here are a few of my favorite things about him...this list could quickly get out of hand so as I said A FEW

  1. I love that he always makes me laugh

  2. He is the best and biggest snuggler I know and it is awsome to get into bed every night and sunggle up

  3. He is really just a big kid

  4. He cooks with me and helps so much in the kitchen

  5. He is smokin hot!

  6. He is very much a traditional person - he doesn't like to make changes to traditions but we certainly know that with baby Hicks this also will change

  7. As mentioned before, I love that He loves Christmas season and all of the decorating and fun that goes along with it

  8. Did I mention how funny he is?

  9. He love me!

Ok. I'll stop there so I don't bore all of you. Here's to wishing my hubby a Happy and wonderful birthday because he deserves it.

Thankful Thursday

I've never posted a thankful Thursday, but I thought that I would today. My friend Becky is so faithful in posting hers each week, so I am copying her.

I have so much to be thankful for, so this is just my immediate thoughts of thank giving:

  1. First and foremost, I am thankful for the precious baby that is on the way that God has blessed us with.
  2. I am thankful for warm fuzzy slippers to keep me warm on cold mornings and nights
  3. I'm thankful for laughter
  4. I am glad that it is time to listen to Christmas music!
  5. That tomorrow night is going to be cold and that we're going to be cozy by the fire for the night
  6. I am so thankful to have a husband who love the Christmas season as much as I do...we're decorating and lighting the tree tomorrow night as well! I'll share pictures when it is complete!
  7. I'm also thankful for my blogging friends and this wonderful resource to stay in touch with friends we don't get to see everyday...I love technology.

good night my friends.
