Lake Weekend

We have certainly worn down the roads between Birmingham and Compass Lake this month!  We had our annual Crews Lake weekend and it was a blast.  I love these boys and girls!  I loved the time with them and especially with Steph and Toby.  These kids love my kids and have a way with them like I have never seen before.  Collier adores them all and I am so glad that they take the time to drive all the way over for a weekend visit every summer.
they did lots of jumping from the dock, knee boarding (Landon, Baylor and Brandon all got up) a little tubing and tons of swimming

 paddle ball with Pops
Kenley discovered the Jumparoo and LOVES it...bounced uncontrollable in it for quite a while

All of these boys play football and love the sport.  this is perfect for Collier.  There was lots of football playing and chasing and passing this weekend.  With 6 boys what else would you expect [that doesn't include the men]

Such a fun weekend.  Special memories made.  We love you Crews family with all our hearts!

Beach Trip

We scurried down to the beach for a long weekend that was actually way to short.  I realized that I need a week at the beach, a weekend isn't enough time for me to really enjoy it with the kiddo's!  Justin's brother rented a house for the week at St. George Island and we joined them the last weekend they were there.  Along with Mella and Buzz.  The only bad part was that it was over cast and rainy most of the time..it was beautiful the morning that we left!

Mella and Buzz bought the kids kites.  Collier loved running with it and he was entertainment for several families on the beach watching his effort and enthusiasm.  Buzz worked hard and long to get the kite to fly BUT collier would turn around (with the wind) and the kite would crash down.  I think Buzz was starting to feel defeated but Collier was having a blast just running with the kite.  As long as he ran into the wind the kite would catch a little before he turned and it crashed into the sand.  Collier would run and yell 'wahooo I'm dying a kite'

When they did get it up high and flying, collier still wanted to run with it.  Buzz tried to explain how he could just stand and hold/fly the kite.   But Collier still wanted to run and so he did! and loved every minute of it.

The guys spent a lot of time fishing from the beach which means that Collier also needed to fish.  The funny thing is that Justin would cast Collier's fishing pole down the beach at the waters edge and Collier would run after it and case the 'bait' as Justin reeled it in.  It was both entertaining and energy draining.
Mella, Buzz and Kenley

This cutie was there of course!  I could just eat her up and love to see her flash the sweetest smile I have ever seen!  Such a sweet natured baby..
Kenley only napped one afternoon on the beach in Mella's lap...
She spent the rest of the time rolling around in the tent.  I forgot to take her an extra outfit so when she filled up her diaper the only thing I had was Collier's tshirt which reads 'Sister for SALE'. Thankfully she was happy just being on the beach, even though she wouldn't nap.  For the record, I also tried to get Collier to nap in the tent on the beach and he wouldn't/couldn't - too much going on, so he had to go back up to the house.
We [I use that term loosely..should be the guys] tried to teach Collier to crab hunt.....
They caught one crab and then he saw fireworks [way way far away..couldn't even hear them] and he flipped out, covered his ears and screamed for me to take him back in side.  He is terrified of fireworks. But Justin, Ryan, Eve and Buzz still continued and they caught a bucket full. I really hated that Collier missed out because Justin said it was a lot of fun.
the morning we left...Kenley woke up at 5:30am.  We sat outside for a while before I decided I better get to the beach before everyone else woke up and started packing.  Sweet time with my baby girl

This was the best we could do with the kiddo's..and yes M&Ms were involved to get them to cooperate!  We do what we can...

My sweet little toes, jumping and sitting up

She has found her sweet little toes.  Or as Collier will say 'her deet'.  She did it for the first time last week...int he  middle of the night.  This is twice now that she has done something in the middle of the night [rolling over and now grabbing her feet] that I have only caught because she is next to me in her bassinet.  .

She is loving her jumparoo....she bounces like crazy and it wears her out.  She will normally take a good nap after a little time in her jumparoo.
It is usually hard to take pictures because she is bouncing so fast....if you could see her face it is nothing but smiles and giggles.
She has wanted to sit up now for about 2 months, but clearly she isn't quite strong enough even though she wants to be. Here she is looking and watching herself in her mirror after the bath the other night...sitting up so strong and good. Such a sweet little baby girl!

oh and for the record, she is drooling and gnawing on her fingers like crazy.  I have no idea if she is teething. Collier was very late in getting in first tooth [I need to look back, but I think it was close to 9-11 months] and hope that it is still a little longer before she starts.  She may even be starting to teeth...and it could still be a few months before she does get her first tooth!  At least I hope so. :)

Collier's Pix

We gave Collier one of Justin's old blackberry phones that no longer has service.  His very own "done' [all of his F sounds are d which is very dunny sometimes].  I showed him how it could take pictures and he loves that he can take is very own pictures.  He'll take a picture of something and hold the phone straight out with so much pride to show us and say 'look momma it's:
my sippie
 my shoe
 my calclator
Kenwey's pas
 Daddy's dashwite
 there I am
dere's the inside of your cup
 Daddy...say cheese
 Daddy''s Doot
 Dere's my gun
 My goggles
 Dere you are with Kenwey
 Momma say cheese
dere I am[again..there is just not enough room on this blog to post all of the pictures he takes of himself.  Just like his DADDY....
 Kenwey's toys

He told us to sneeze in these and let him take our pictures:blurry but funny that he made us fake sneeze so that he could snap our picture.

It makes us laugh at the pride that he takes in all of his pictures.  I think that the fact that it is HIS 'done' and that he can do it all by himself and I won't tell him no about using it or taking pictures.  We have had to delete a few since he has captured Justin peeing and me with Kenley just about to eat. Such a silly little man...
