10 months and growing

She is Cute! Yes, I am biased

even if she is drooly

and has cute cheeks:

She is busy

She likes to climb

She knows when she is doing something she shouldn't be and she laughs...HARD
especially when climbing up the stairs at Mom and Dad's. And just for the record Christmas Day she disappeared and we found her in my mom's room which meant that she climbed all of the stairs and went all the way down the hallway by herself.  We are lucky she didn't take a big crash.  But really she has some good balance and can make it up stairs really well!  She has good balance**see above!

She likes bubble baths the best.  But also likes to sit under the faucet. But doesn't really like it when I pour water over her head.  Which makes no sense at all!

She likes to snuggle with her lovey's.  Lamby, blankets and a bear
She walks and even started running....she is fast

This was the first time I put hard-bottom shoes on her...it took her a little bit to adjust to them on feet!

She hasn't taken well to table food and prefers baby food

She thinks her brother is really funny.  She is right about that.  she adores him and wants to do all that he is doing.

She has 6 teeth ALREADY: 4 on top and 2 on bottom

She is 10 months!
My baby keeps growing. Such a sweet baby girl.  Thankful for her every day!

Snow Day

Justin and I love snow.  We love cold weather and just die at the possibility of snow in our area.  So, last week when they said there was a chance for snow, we both got really excited.  Justin was out of town and headed back on Thursday morning.  He called when he got to Clanton and it had just started to come down.  I was so sad to be at work and not at home to play with Collier.  But Nammy came through and played with him.  They made snow balls and did lots of snow ball throwing!  She said he ran all over the yard and had a BLAST!!  I wish I could have been there to join in the fun, but so thankful to have such a fun Nammy to play and participate with him!

I left his gloves at home that  morning...so he wore Mom's garden gloves, ha!

By the time I got off the snow had stopped but the roads were a little yucky!  As soon as we got home Justin took Collier down to a neighbors (who has older children) and they all had a blast running around, throwing snow balls and even making a snow man.  So much fun.  I missed out because I was either at work or at home with Kenley...it was a little too cold for her.  But it was still lots of fun and it was so pretty watching it come down and cover everything in while.  So beautiful!

Happy New Year

Well, Now that we have all of Christmas wrapped up and put up I can finally welcome 2013. I wish you the happiest year filled with blessings and love.  I do not know what lies ahead for 2013 but I know that I want to draw closer to Jesus.  To be in His presents, in His will, living a life that is guided by Him and not me and my selfish ways.  I desire to be right with Him so that I am pleasing to Him.  I pray that I will rely on Him more often through every day.  I pray that my family and friends will see and know His love like never before.  Here is to being His light shining in a dark world.

Have you read or heard about the OneWord Challenge?  Several of the blogs that I follow have posted about it and I have been praying a few days on this and it is really hard.  I have a few in my mind but am waiting for God's confirmation on what He wants me to focus on this year that can really define me.  When I decide I will share...I think the point of the challenge is to start the year off with it but I am clearly a little behind!

Welcomed Kenley into our family!!! Precious Baby

The other thing that I am doing this year is Beth Moore's scripture memory.  24 verses in 12 months and praying for a sharp mind and committed heart to get me through each and every verse.  I know I can not do this on my own and it will only be by His power and help that I will be able to do it.  I am excited to see what He has in store for me to commit to my heart this year.  I participated two years ago and was amazed at what He taught me!  When we put His word in our hearts the blessings are endless.  Ann Voskamp really grabbed my heart in this post when she said ' What you really know by heart is what your heart really knows - and what you really live.'  She went on to ask 'Will you spend your days meditating on His Word or your worries?' I want to it be His word and when I learn His word I will have it in my heart and mind so that in times of worry, I can pull them out and focus back on Him.  I also like that she said 'When you memorize Scripture, it's like carrying your own oxygen tanks.'  Amen Sister!

One other thing I want to do more of this year (not exactly spiritual) is get back to running more consistently.  I got new running shoes and clothes for Christmas so I am all geared up, just a matter of hitting the pavement!

Happy New Year!

My Final Christmas Post - Korey Family

I feel like I have been on a never ending Christmas posting extravaganza.  But I wanted to be sure to get it all in, just for the record.  The week of Christmas Mom, Justin and I managed to make Kibbie and Grapeleaves for when the Korey clan arrived.  Cooking these is a little labor intensive but more than anything it is getting the experience of it...the more we cook it the easier it is.  We need to do it more because it is so delicious and comforting to my soul.  It makes me miss my Grandma and Aunt Ida but it is so fun to cook these things and remember them!

So, we celebrated Christmas the weekend after with my family and it was so much fun.  Chris, Amanda and the girls came up for the weekend and we were so happy to have them here.
Collier loves his Dothan cousins...he didn't want to let go of Ash to go home for the night!
Nammy and Pops with the grandbabies...minus Kenley who was snoozing.
Pops reading Dora to Hayden (who wants to be Dora)
 Present time!  so fun!
 Squeeze Hugs

These two would slide down the stairs on their belly and then race back up...loads of fun!

We had a great time and so thankful for all of our families and love our time with each of them.  It was the perfect ending to all of our Christmas fun celebrations.

Christmas Day

We love being at our house on Christmas day.  It was exciting, relaxing and fun!  When Collier woke up he was so excited to see that Santa had some to his house!  He then not only opened his stocking but all of our stockings!  He pulled out one thing at a time showing it to Justin and me with each stocking...he even opened Brink's for her!   He was so cute and sweet! Kenley was just along for the ride.

We went to Mom and Dad's for dinner and I only took one picture of Kenley laying on Dad's shoulder...he had been begging for her to relax and 'lay your head on my shoulder'.  But we also cooked a big Christmas dinner and I should have taken pictures...I need to document because as Justin said 'this is the first time I've had food like this up here'.  It was really so yummy and I was proud that Mom and I pulled it off and that Justin was even pleased with it all!
Dinner: Turkey, Mashed Potatoes & Gravy, Corn Bread Dressing, Green Bean Casserole, Strawberry Congealed Salad, Bread
Happy Pops snuggling with Kenley
